Dr. Martin Bide in textile assessment laboratoryWe conduct a variety of standard overall performance tests for textiles and clothing in our textile testing laboratories, including development work, shade dimension, and troubleshooting for textile dyeing and finishing. The laboratory is equipped with a selection of testing equipment and a conditioning area. Examinations are carried out according to standard ASTM or AATCC treatments.

Textile Conservation

Our textile preservation laboratory had been set up to treat textiles, costumes and accessories. Treatments feature dietary fiber, fabric and dye analysis; wet-cleaning; repair and stabilization; and planning for convention. A condition analysis, treatment suggestion and value estimation are ready per object to-be addressed. Evaluation of archaeological fabrics from Native American burials is another specialty associated with the faculty. Analyses for extant textile fragments, dyes and pseudomorphs tend to be carried out.
